Piazza Italia

I would visit this restaurant 2-3 times per month but after today they have lost a customer. I waited for over an hour, after placing my order (for my daughter and I) shortly after arriving. 4 tables arrived after us, they were helped faster than we were and got their drinks, apps and food before we did. I asked two separate servers for a status on my order and neither of them came back to the table to give me an explanation. After waiting another 10 minutes, our told us it was coming out as she was walking to another table. She didn’t even have the decency to ask if we needed anything while it took longer than usual. After her “it’s coming right out” comment, two more orders were delievered to guests that came after us. Enraged, I went to the cash register to pay and leave. The owner then tried to insinuate that my dishes were probably more complicated and that’s why it took longer than usual… I ordered a grilled salmon with vegetables and chicken with vegetables …. The issue was not that the food was late, the issue was the Lack of customer service. Never again.

I attended a very nice event here, for a friend's birthday party. They are known for their Italian oven and the first appetizers were garlic cheese flat breads served with marinara, charred nicely and oozing garlicky goodness. The following antipasta plates featured Italian meats, cheeses, peppers, olives and roasted Eggplant which made for excellent toppings. I ordered a special burrata pizza with prosciutto, basil, truffle & mushroom. It was delicious, well charred, but the moisture from the burrata did make the center of the pizza soggy. I would note that 2 days in the cardboard take home box dried out the remaining pizza perfectly. The Spaghetti Carbonara was served just how I like it (no peas, plenty of pancetta) and it was enjoyed. Oddly, as we were leaving the staff had multiple pizzas from a chain restaurant delivered, making me wonder about management policies. The owner just shrugged when I questioned this. The staff was not attentive, mostly looking like they wanted to be somewhere else, and we were the only large party on a slow Thursday night. They have a solid wine list and plenty of entree choices, Taste **** Quality/Freshness **** Presentation/Uniqueness **** Service ** Atmosphere *** Bar *** Cleanliness **** Value ***

I'm a Brazilian who loves Italian food and I've been looking for an authentic Italian restaurant forever. After years with some disappointment, heard about Piazza Italia this week and went straight to try. I'm absolutely amazed. The food made me feel like I was back in Napoli. The taste is just wonderful and the atmosphere is so Italian. Hands down the best Italian food I've had outside Italy. I will be back many times and take my family and friend to eat there every time.

We came in around 8 p.m. The restaurant was not too busy. No one greeted us at the door. We sat and our server came by about 5 minutes later. He apologized about the wait. We ordered a sangria. It was delicious. We also ordered the clams and garlic bread. The clams had no flavor whatsoever. The garlic bread tasted delicious but soggy, not crispy at all. We ordered two pizzas. The server came back and asked if we wanted the check after the pizza before we got the pizza. I said no, we're going to have dessert as well. He took our dessert order and then our dessert came out before our pizza. The desserts are delicious 10/10. I asked him to box the pizzas to go. I would be willing to try this place out again if we're in the area. Overall, it's an ok experience and I can't say how the pizza is as I haven't tried it.
